The Milwaukee Brewers now sit at +500 odds to win the 2027 World Series, placing them second in the betting market behind the Los Angeles Dodgers. This adjustment follows the Brewers' victory in their first championship on Wednesday. DraftKings lists the Dodgers as the primary favorite at +310, while the New York Yankees trail at +700.
Sportsbooks show minor disagreements regarding the fourth and fifth spots. DraftKings places the Boston Red Sox at 11-1, followed by the Philadelphia Phillies and Seattle Mariners at 18-1. BetMGM and Caesars Sportsbook list the Atlanta Braves as the fourth team, with odds of 13-1 and 16-1 respectively. All major operators agree that the Tampa Bay Rays fall outside the top six, with DraftKings posting them at 22-1.
The Rays' improved standing represents a major shift from the 80-1 odds they carried at the start of the 2026 regular season. Bookmakers credited both Milwaukee and Tampa Bay with building credibility through their strong postseason performances. Johnny Avello, director of sports operations at DraftKings, noted that the Brewers' previous early exits against teams like the Dodgers had dampened confidence. He stated that the current run has changed how the market views Milwaukee's October capabilities.
Eric Biggio, head of baseball at Caesars, agreed with this assessment. He pointed to the Brewers' sweep of the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series as the factor that cemented their status as a championship-caliber team. Despite the Brewers and Rays having payrolls in the bottom half of the league, bookmakers still favor Los Angeles and New York.
A representative from BetMGM cited the Dodgers' and Yankees' current talent and their capacity to add players in the offseason as the primary reasons for their status as favorites. A contentious collective bargaining agreement negotiation is expected this offseason, but current odds reflect the financial power of the New York and Los Angeles franchises. Avello explained that early odds account for potential offseason moves, noting that the Dodgers and Yankees have a history of aggressive spending.
Biggio added that public perception and historical market support rank those two teams as the favorites to win their respective leagues. The Chicago White Sox, another surprise success of the season, sit at 30-1 to win the title, down from 500-1 at the start of the year. The San Francisco Giants hold 200-1 odds, while the Colorado Rockies have the consensus longest odds at 500-1.
