The deal centers on the tension between viral short-form content and long-form streaming. Druski has signed a multiyear agreement with Netflix and his production company, 4LIFERS Entertainment. The partnership begins with a new semi-scripted comedy series titled Collect & Praise, which is scheduled to premiere on December 1.
The series follows a money-driven megachurch pastor played by Druski and his deacon, played by Mike Epps. The characters prioritize financial gain over spiritual duty. The show expands on a character Druski created for a short-form sketch posted on January 12. That specific video collected more than 9 million likes on TikTok.
Druski stated in a press release that his platform is built on characters that resonate with audiences. He described the partnership as a way to bring his work to a new global audience. He noted that the deal allows 4LIFERS Entertainment to expand its reach and develop original programming for a wider group of viewers.
Netflix will also license material from Druski's existing catalog under the contract. This library includes the films Coulda Been Love and Coulda Been Daddy, as well as Coulda Been Records Auditions. The streamer will also acquire his viral skits for its platform.
John Derderian, who oversees Next Gen Content at Netflix, commented on the comedian's ability to create memorable characters. He said that people cannot stop talking about Druski's work. Derderian described Collect & Praise as the start of a larger collaboration.
The announcement arrives just before a milestone for the creator. He will host Saturday Night Live on November 7. This appearance will make him the first digital creator to host the sketch comedy program.
