Fifteen speakers and more than 300 organizations will converge on The Paramount in Baltimore on December 8, 2026, for a summit focused on regional infrastructure and development. The Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC) is hosting the annual Vision 2035 event from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., marking one of the first major gatherings at the newly opened venue.
The summit serves as GBC's final signature event of the year. It brings together business leaders, developers, elected officials, and civic partners to examine specific projects shaping the region. Mark Anthony Thomas, president and CEO of the GBC, stated that the event aims to connect leaders moving projects forward and discuss what it takes to turn plans into reality. He noted that the organization wants to build on momentum as the region looks toward 2027.
The program addresses several distinct areas of investment. One session explores Maryland's transit-oriented development strategy, including plans for Odenton. Tony Bridges, administrator of the Maryland Transit Administration, will lead a fireside conversation on regional transportation and connectivity. Another segment focuses on the Jones Falls corridor, discussing how to rethink the area to connect neighborhoods and support new development.
Developers will also discuss the transformation of Station North and the area surrounding Penn Station. These conversations include major new investments in the Station North Arts District and the broader redevelopment of central Baltimore. The event also examines financial mechanisms used to fund these projects. Panels will cover tax increment financing, Opportunity Zones, and payment in lieu of taxes agreements, explaining how these tools support investments in downtown Baltimore and across the region.
Janet Currie, chair of the GBC board of directors and president of Greater Maryland at Bank of America, called The Paramount a fitting setting for the discussion. She said the venue represents the kind of vision and investment the group is gathering to discuss. Jennifer Vey, chief strategy officer of the GBC, added that transportation, real estate development, and public spaces are deeply connected. She said the program looks at specific places and projects while examining the policies and financing needed to advance them.
Confirmed speakers include Otis Rolley of the Baltimore Development Corporation, Joe McAndrew from the Maryland Department of Transportation, and Tom Sadowski of the Maryland Economic Development Corp. Additional names include Laura Gamble of PNC Bank and Bob Goldstein of The Paramount Baltimore. The event will conclude with a discussion of GBC's legislative and policy priorities for the coming year.
Tickets for the summit cost $50 for GBC partners and $150 for non-partners. Registration is available at gbc.org/events. The event is supported by sponsors including MedStar Health, BGE, and CCBC. Media partners for the summit include theBaltimore Sun, The Afro American Newspaper, I95 Business, and The Daily Record.
