A man was found dead outside a Waldorf restaurant on Halloween night, still gripping a knife.
Charles County Sheriff's Office investigators say Strong, 41, was shot once in the chest by a private security guard assigned to The Cut Bar & Restaurant. The incident began with an altercation between Strong and another patron in the 2500 block of Business Park Court.
During the fight, Strong pulled a knife and threatened the other man. The guard stepped in to control Strong's hand and the weapon. The confrontation escalated, and Strong stabbed the other patron once in the abdomen. As Strong appeared ready to stab the victim again, the guard fired.
Strong walked outside and collapsed in the parking lot. Responding officers located him with the knife still in his hand. He died at the scene despite medical efforts. The man who was stabbed received treatment for injuries not considered life-threatening.
First responders arrived shortly after 1:45 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31. Detectives are continuing the homicide investigation and will present the case to the State's Attorney's Office for review. The investigation was still active as of Sunday, Nov. 1.
